England's Highest Golf Course

Alston Moor Golf Club is undoubtedly the highest golf course in England and possibly the United Kingdom. At 1476' asl and situated 15 miles south of the Roman Wall and located within an AONB, it offers spectacular views of the North Pennines. Currently 10 holes, par 68, sss 67, expansion is under way to full 18 hole par 70, 5800 yds, sss 70, completion Summer 2010.

The Hermitage, is situated 2 miles south of Alston on the B6277 and comprises 132 acres of parkland, high meadow and pasture land.

With a small membership and remote location it is ideal for the golfer who likes playing the game at his own pace.
